My Childhood

 Yeah!! That's me

On 11th May 1992 in Goa, a tiny emeralds land with its natural scenic beauty, famous for architecture, feast, festivals and hospitable people with a rich culture, where I, Pallavi Singh was born and grew up as a child. We lived in a small neighbourhood with my parents and grandparents. My father was working for the Indian Navy. The bond between parent and child is one of the strongest connections in nature. The love given by my parents during my childhood was so strong that success behind my today’s life is because of them.

When I was 3 years old, my parents sent me to kindergarten. A place where kids are taught about the meaningful and balanced curriculum of skill and information through age-appropriate activities that encourage children to want to learn more. I still remember those playful days. I was like any other kid, however, one day my teacher noticed that I was not concentrating on my studies and I am doing “Masti”, So, she called my parents to discuss it. She said, “Pallavi is not as active as compared to other students, she is quite slow in her studies”.

She also suggested my parents, to consult the doctor. Upon her advice, my parents took me to the doctor where they came to know about my problem of high myopia, and that it was there since my birth. That was the day when I got glasses for the first time, with a very high power of -8 and -10, at such a young age. I didn't know that those glasses are going to be my life long companion.

Flexing these big glasses since 1995

The doctor warned them that I may lose vision very soon in my life. Mom and Dad were shocked to hear this and thought how this small girl will handle everything. However, I still remember my parents never made me feel any different from other kids. They always supported me in every step.

I feel parental love is the only love that is truly selfless, unconditional and forgiving.

I clearly remember, my friends used to make fun of me, by calling me “chasmish”, "double battery single power" etc. I used to feel bad and curse myself that why I have this big glasses. Why ME?

But my parents love and support made me strong, and taught me that no matter whatever difficulties we face, we should believe in ourself and never give up. They made me feel like their beautiful princess (and I still am). They encouraged me to excel in all fields and hobbies that I decided to take up. That’s all now, I have grown up.

The first step of success:

I don't have enough words, about how significant parental love is.

With their support and love, I have reached where I am today.

So for every child to achieve something in life parent's support is important, no matter how difficult it is for the child (physically or mentally).

Things learned during childhood makes an everlasting impression.

We all miss out on mentioning it to then how much we owe them and how much we love and respect that.. Your writing is a true form of expressing that love and respect to them...
